Medical Editor Required for SMIs

27/06/2014 10:59:44

Public Health England are seeking applications from the membership of The Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine - Microbiology Group. Due to the considerable workload a second medical editor is required to edit UK Standards for Microbiology Investigations (SMIs) for bacteriology.  SMIs are a comprehensive referenced collection of recommended algorithms and procedures for clinical microbiology and bacteriology.  The documents are developed in line with the Appraisal of Guidelines Research & Evaluation (AGREE) instrument http://www.agreetrust.org/resource-centre/agree-ii/ used for NICE accreditation.

Background information is available at http://www.hpa.org.uk/SMI. Click for the Advert for SMI medical editors ACBLM and the Job Description for SMI medical editors. Applications should be submitted to Shirley.Boland@phe.gov.uk by the 8th July 2014 and should include a covering letter and curriculum vitae.
