  • 14-15 September 2017: Exosomes and Microvesicles: Roles in Disease Pathology and Therapy

The meeting will focus on the considerable roles EMVs play in disease progression and pathology, including subversion of the immune system. The focused meeting aims to bring key workers in the EMV field together, to use recent basic EMV research to enhance translational efforts as the EMV field moves into therapeutic research.

The second main focus of this meeting will be the development of EMVs in therapy either as drug delivery vehicles, for example carrying siRNA, or the use of stem cell MVs to repair acute organ injury or even the specific immuno-depletion of EMVs. Research into the use of EMVs as therapeutic vehicles, benefiting from being completely non-immunostimulatory, in the forthcoming era of personalised drug delivery, is sure to become a massive area of interest.
