Focus: General Information

Focus 2019 will take place at the Scottish Event Campus (previously known as the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre), an internationally recognised venue.

Glasgow also has something special – a phenomenon that can be described as passion in partnership – that consistently delivers for conferences. And nowhere is this more evident than in the SEC, with its stunning riverside location minutes from the city centre.

The ACB Focus 2019 scientific programme, venue information, abstracts and daily updates will all be available in the palm of your hand on the free ACB Focus 2019 App for IOS and Android. As part of our policy of minimising the environmental impact of the meeting, paper documents will be kept to the minimum necessary; however we do plan to offer a small printed programme for those who desire this.

The exhibition and catering outlets will be situated in the main exhibition hall along with the Posters.

The conference dinner will be held on the evening of 2 May at The Tall Ship at Riverside - a unique venue which promises to be memorable. She was built in 1896 on the River Clyde when Glasgow was recognised as the Second City of the Empire and she is now the only Clyde built sailing ship still afloat in the UK.

The scientific programme will include plenary lectures, symposia and workshops, along with oral and poster presentations. There will be symposia aimed at challenging service and science as well as on demand optimisation. The symposia sessions will also cover informatics & standardisation, clinical nutrition & lipids and lab re-configuration.
Clinical scientists, pathologists, medical laboratory scientists, scientists in the diagnostics industry and postgraduates in relevant fields will all find something to stimulate and develop their careers, and are warmly encouraged to attend.
