The ACB website was first established in 1997 by Dr Rick Jones and was located on a University of Leeds domain, Dr John O'Connor then took up the mantle of 'ACB Webmaster' and In 1998, moved to it's current domain at www.acb.org.uk. The site was then redeveloped using Microsoft FrontPage 98 by John O'Connor and Sharayne Zargar as part of her degree project. The inclusion of download files such as the pdf of ACB News proved popular and attracted an ever increasing number of visitors.
In 2001 John handed the reigns over to Dr Ian Godber who has since developed the site further. A redesign later that year was followed by the inclusion of many important consultation documents, guidelines and reports. In 2003 on-line secure ordering of ACB Publications was lauched and a password protected member's area came on-line, giving members full access to their records and the ability to browse the members directory.
In 2005 Ian worked together with Bilberry Internet to produce the current site. This involved a move away from static pages and on to a database driven site which was designed with speacial attention to improving the navigation and clarity of the content. Ian is also involved with other ACB projects, and remains the technical lead on the LabTestsOnline UK website
In 2008 Ian handed the majority of the administration of the site over to the ACB Office at Tooley St, whilst still providing guidance on the development of the site as a website advisor. Nic Law, Senior Administrator of the ACB now maintains the site and can be contacted on admin@acb.org.uk
